Game 125: Back To The Family

Sorry for the unannounced absence today, folks. I spent all day out of cell phone reception at my uncle's workshop up north working on a piece of furniture for my sister's apartment. Matt had a sudden and much more important family matter to attend to, which in tandem explain the lack of posting here.

If you stop by here often, I think you'll agree that we do a pretty good job of providing a steady stream of content, but today life and family intervened. You know how it goes.

On to the game...

Today Joba Chamberlain gets back on the hill after a 9 days of rest. Following three straight outings lasting longer than 6 2/3 innings and allowing one or no runs, none of Joba's last three starts have made it into the 7th inning and he's given up 4 runs in each.

For the Rangers, Kevin Millwood gets the ball. Despite only achieving a 9-8 record on a pretty good team, Millwood is having one of the better seasons of his career. He's averaging over 6 1/3 IP per start, fewer than one hit per inning and has a 3.48 ERA. The Yanks faced him earlier this year, getting three runs out of him before he hit the showers in the sixth.

The Yanks are back home, Joba's back in action and I've gotta get back and assemble the aforementioned item at my sister's place. With any luck, we'll be back at full strength tomorrow.

Enjoy the game.

My telephone wakes me in the morning,
Have to get up to answer the call.
So I think I'll go back to the family,
Where no one can ring me at all.

Living this life has its problems,
So I think that I'll give it a break.
Oh, I'm going back to the family,
Cause I've had about all I can take.
